In awarding $100,000 of Community Development Block Grant Program funding to Rebuilding Together Thurston County’s Safe at Home Program, the City of Olympia aims to bolster critical home-repair and affordable-housing efforts locally.
The Safe at Home Program offers rehabilitation grants to low-income residents for health and safety repairs to their homes. In doing so, the program helps with the City’s goal of preserving affordable housing in the community. As a result, although the partnership with Rebuilding Together Thurston County is only in its first year, the City sees great potential for it.
Safe at Home serves residents of Thurston County in general, but the $100,000 of City funding is only available to Olympia residents.
