WHAT WE DO

Rebuilding Together Thurston County is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Federal EIN: 77-0613860) that provides free home repairs and handicap modifications for​ low income homeowners and nonprofit facilities. We serve low income homeowners who are elderly, disabled, families with children, and veterans in need. Rebuilding Together Thurston County was founded in 2003 by the Olympia Remodelers Council and other volunteers and is part of the Rebuilding Together national organization, with over 130 affiliates across the country. JASON VATNE, BOARD PRESIDENT

Columbia Bank

Jason joined the board in 2019 after volunteering on a few home projects. A native of Rochester, Jason is a vice president with Columbia Bank and is the manager of the West Olympia branch. He is a graduate of Leadership Thurston County, and serves on the boards for Centralia College Foundation and BHR Foundation. He was previously a member of the Centralia Rotary. Jason enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, and road trips.

LANE SATER, PAST BOARD PRESIDENT

Lane, his wife Tonya, and their five children have been volunteering with Rebuilding Together for 10 years.  Lane served as a house captain for many years and serves on the site selection committee. When Lane isn't volunteering or spending time with family, he works as a construction project coordinator.

CATHY JOHNSON, VOLUNTEER EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dandelion Gardens

Cathy has a degree in Business Administration from Seattle University and a certificate in Horticulture from SPSCC.  The owner of Dandelion Gardens LLC, Cathy provides landscape design and container design and planting services.  Cathy has been a volunteer for RTTC since 2012 and a member of the Board of Directors since 2015. She also volunteers for SafePlace, Homes First and Pope John Paul II High School. Cathy loves to read and travel with her husband and son.

TINA DAVIS, BOARD SECRETARY

TwinStar Credit Union

Tina lives in Olympia with her husband and three children. Tina has actively volunteered for more than 25 years with numerous organizations, including YMCA, Habitat for Humanity, Women’s Build, Thurston County Food Bank, and Leadership Thurston County.  She is a branch manager with TwinStar Credit Union and has worked in the finance industry for more than 24 years. Tina is an avid WSU Cougar fan and loves soccer, camping, and spending time with her family.

REBEKAH GRAHAM, BOARD MEMBER

Catholic Community Services

Rebekah is the program coordinator for Catholic Community Services volunteer services program in Mason, Lewis, and Thurston counties. She believes safe, independent housing for those that can continue to live independently in their own homes helps strengthen communities and fosters positive neighborly relationships through meaningful connections. She lives in an adorable purple house in the beautiful Steamboat Island area with her husband, children, two cats, and a dog.

CANDACE WOOD, BOARD MEMBER

Back Office Services

Candace has lived in Thurston County for 18 years. She is a University of Washington alumnus where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting with a non-profit minor and an MBA. She has spent most of her professional life in the finance industry and has worked in banking, mortgage, the State Auditor’s Office, the non-profit sector and now runs her own tax and accounting services firm in Olympia specializing in non-profit and construction accounting services.

MEET OUR STAFF

MARJORIE GACHNE' PRICE

Director of Administration

Marge brings her long experience with several Thurston County nonprofits back to us. She has served in leadership and fundraising roles for Rebuilding Together Thurston County, Homes First, Tumwater Chamber of Commerce, Dispute Resolution Center, and Olympia Tumwater Foundation. She has extensive experience with projects, events, volunteers, fundraising and marketing. Marge has three daughters and four granddaughters.

SHAYANNE GRAND

Critical Repairs Program Manager

Shayanne has been in the construction field for six years. For the past five years, she has used these skills to assist nonprofits geared towards helping to house families. She is a motivated, hard working mother who sets goals and strives to exceed her own expectations and especially those she has the privilege to help with the tasks at hand.
