ABOVE AND BEYOND AWARD
Each year at the Build It Breakfast, we highlight an exemplary volunteer who went "Above and Beyond" in their volunteerism.

2026 - Beverly Vincent
Beverly volunteers in our office at least twice a week and is integral to the success of Rebuilding Together Thurston County. Beverly helps us with everything from mass mailings to processing donor and volunteer information to creating Excel spreadsheets. She even found new office furniture for us! She always has a smile on her face, has a can-do attitude, a great sense of humor, brings in yummy baked goods to “power the office” and loves Big Tom’s burgers as much as we do.

2025 - Bob Burrell
Bob joined the volunteer team in November of 2023. He has volunteered more than 800 hours to repair homes and rebuild lives. Bob has made a tremendous impact on the lives of more than 30 homeowners and always does it with a smile on his face.

2024 - Phil Cowart
In 2021, Phil created a new computer program which enabled Rebuilding Together Thurston County to more concisely track and record our application and project data. This data allowed RTTC to solicit more grant funds and to better report the impact we are making on the community. He has been instrumental in transferring this data to our national office as well.

2023 - Dan Jorgensen
Dan is one of our most skilled volunteers which makes him invaluable. He tackles our toughest repair projects and doesn’t mind working alone. Prior to retiring and volunteering, Dan worked in construction including as a journeyman electrician, roadway inspector, materials tester, compaction tester, and traffic signal repairman. After retiring, Dan knew he wanted to spend more time helping people and enjoying his family. Dan says volunteering gives him great self-satisfaction and he enjoys sharing a cup of coffee with our homeowners and hearing about their lives.

2022 - Lane Sater
Lane started volunteering for Rebuilding when he was working for SCJ Alliance, a long-time sponsor and supporter of Rebuilding. Lane has served as a Rebuilding Day house captain, led the site selection committee, served on the board of directors, been president of the board, completed many site inspections and repairs, and been instrumental in guiding the organization. His wife, Tonya, has served as house ambassador, helped in the office, and volunteered on numerous Rebuilding Day projects as well. Their children have volunteered on numerous Rebuilding Day projects.

2021 - Dave Kopra & Ann Drorbaugh
This phenomenal husband and wife team have been volunteering with Rebuilding Together Thurston County since 2019 but have been volunteering for Rebuilding Together affiliates across the country for years. Ann and Dave have participated in Rebuilding Day and critical repair projects. In the last two years they have built four wheelchair ramps and performed numerous repairs for our homeowners in need. Their building skills and ability to work with vulnerable homeowners and volunteers enable them to make a tremendous contribution to the community. They especially enjoy teaching other volunteers how to build ramps and perform household repairs.

2020 - Bruce Keough
Bruce has dedicated his time and talent with the First United Methodist Church’s men’s group on Rebuilding Day and critical repair projects. When we need something done, done well, and done on a timely basis, Bruce is always there to answer the call and fill the need. Along with working with the men’s group, Bruce completes site inspections, completes repairs on his own, and is an integral member of our site selection committee. His project reports are legendary for their detail and accuracy.
