2024 - Legacy Plumbing & St. Clair Contracting

Legacy Plumbing, owned by Bryan Pratt, provided a record setting amount of plumbing
services to RTTC homeowners in 2023. Bryan is especially gifted in repairing plumbing issues
on manufactured homes, which have unique plumbing challenges. Plumbing was our most
requested service in 2023.

St. Clair Contracting, owned by Stephen Barkis, successfully completed two of our most
challenging projects. Stephen spent months repairing major water and structural damage
in Lorena’s home. He also renovated a bathroom for Rita and Dennis, another project with
unexpected challenges. Without Stephen’s unwavering commitment, both families could have
been left homeless or in dire living conditions.

2023 - PCI Pest Control

PCI Pest Control wanted to make a difference in the community. Since partnering with Rebuilding Together Thurston County, PCI employees have volunteered on numerous projects. They love the tough, difficult, dirty projects that most of us would prefer not to do. The PCI crew has cut down small trees, cut back blackberry bushes, removed unwanted/old items, cleaned gutters, treated for pests (of course), and much more. PCI has also hosted two of volunteer recruitment events.

PCI Pest Control was started by Matthew Purcell in 1998 and it is a family run, veteran owned business. PCI’s goal is to do a community service event per quarter. The company likes to do these projects because it gives the team a chance to work together, do some team building, and give back to the community.

2022 - Builders First Source

Builders FirstSource has regularly shared their considerable talent and resources with Rebuilding Together Thurston County. From selling us building materials at a discount to hosting our birdhouse competitions to leading a home repair workshop, their support has been invaluable. Ken Hassett, general manager, served on the 2021 Rebuilding Day site selection committee and was house captain for a project in Tumwater. Ken led a crew of volunteers from Builders FirstSource as they rebuilt a deck, cleaned up the landscape, added a railing to the wheelchair ramp, cleaned gutters, installed window screens, and much more. It was a favorite Rebuilding Day site because it felt like a party!

When we call for plumbing service, Springer Plumbing always provides us with prompt help and a discount. Their prompt service helps prevent water damage to floors, restores hot running water, and enables toilets and faucets to work properly. After some service calls, Diane or Ron will call the office to advise us of other issues that may be a concern. Springer Plumbing is an invaluable partner that enables low income homeowners to live in safe and healthy homes.

SCJ Alliance is a consulting firm specializing in civil engineering, transportation design, public outreach, landscape architecture, and planning services. Compassion and stewardship are two of the firm's five core values. Through SCJ’s contributions to RTTC and numerous organizations in the community, SCJ has demonstrated that compassion and stewardship are more than just words to them. Since 2012, SCJ has gathered a group of employees and family members to participate in six Rebuilding Day projects. The employees provide skilled labor, power tools, and equipment, and always bring fun and positivity to the task of the day. Olympia Federal Savings Bank has been a strong supporter of Rebuilding Together Thurston County since we started in 2003. OlyFed has provided vital funding for our organization over the years, employees have volunteered on numerous rebuilding projects, and employees have proudly served on our board. OlyFed, originally called the Olympia Building and Loan Association, was founded in 1906 by a local group led by James McDowell. The bank weathered the depression due to its sound business practices and now has eight branches in Thurston and Mason Counties. OlyFed dedicates at least 5% of its revenues to the community. In the past seven years, the bank has given between 10% to 15% of its profits to local non-profit organizations. OlyFed is a great combination of community passion and local banking.
