Ryan reached out to Rebuilding Together for help in June to fix his father’s front door. Ryan hadn’t been able to reach his father, so he went to check on him. After not getting an answer at the door or being able to access the home in another way, Ryan broke down the front door and found his father laying on the bathroom floor. J.R. had fallen five days prior and been unable to get up or get help. With J.R.’s health and mobility issues, he isn't out of the house much, so neighbors weren’t concerned about not seeing him.
J.R. is recovering. Our volunteers are already working with the family to install a new door and complete other repairs so that J.R. can come home from the hospital to a safe and secure home. Thanks for your donations which enable us to help homeowners like J.R.
