USDA Awards $50,000 Grant to RTTC

RTTC was awarded a $50,000 grant from the USDA to support our work in rural areas of Thurston County. Funds will be used to provide critical repairs and ADA modifications to homes located in Yelm, Rainier, Tenino, Bucoda, and Rochester.

This is the first time we have been awarded a USDA grant and we are very excited about the opportunities it provides us to help homeowners living in rural areas. We are already helping a three-generation family living in Rochester with USDA funds. The sewer pipes underneath the family’s home failed and we’ve hired contractors to repair the pipes, clean up the waste, and install new insulation. We’ll also be repairing the family’s worn and hazardous flooring, ensuring that the two toddlers can safely play on the floor.
