We're hiring a full-time Executive Director to lead our organization. Position Summary:

The Executive Director will lead the organization and work with staff, the board of directors, contract employees, volunteers, supply and contractor partners, the community, clients, and government agencies to facilitate repairs and ADA modifications of homes owned by qualified, low-income homeowners in Thurston County. The ED will be responsible for all aspects of the organization including fundraising, volunteer and contractor recruitment, community relations, project management, budgets, and staff supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct existing fundraising events and create new ones to support projects and operations.

  • Follow and establish policies and procedures (as needed).

  • Oversee staff, contract employees, and volunteers.

  • Communicate effectively with volunteers, contractors, donors, staff, board members, homeowners, and the community.

  • Community presentations, outreach, and public relations.

  • Financial acuity.

  • Develop and oversee budgets and reports.

  • Attend all board meetings and communicate regularly with the board.

  • Ensure RTTC is in compliance with national, state, and local rules and regulations.

  • Maintain relationships with national organization and local affiliates.

  • Maintain records and systems.

  • Successfully manage Rebuilding Day and Critical Repair projects.

  • Flexible schedule with some evening and weekend hours as needed for presentations, Rebuilding Day projects, fundraising, etc.

  • Ability to multitask.

  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word), Google Workspace (particularly Gmail and Google Drive), Little Green Light (or similar donor management software).

  • Marketing, including social media (primarily Facebook), Mailchimp, and YouTube.

  • Ability to work with a wide range of people and personalities.

  • Personnel management.

  • Program management.

Organization Summary:

Rebuilding Together Thurston County (RTTC) was founded in 2003 and is an affiliate of the national Rebuilding Together organization. RTTC provides ADA modifications and home repairs free of charge to low-income homeowners living in Thurston County who meet qualifying criteria. Since 2003, we have helped more than 285 homeowners with home repairs and ADA modifications. RTTC partners with volunteers, contractors, building suppliers, and community organizations to provide services to our homeowners in need. Our mission – repairing homes, revitalizing communities, and rebuilding lives.

RTTC has three part time staff members and a board of directors. Contract employees provide grant writing, bookkeeping, and technical support. Talented and dedicated volunteers as well as contractor and supply partners enable us to provide safe and healthy homes for those in danger of becoming homeless or living in difficult and hazardous conditions.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree an asset, but not required. Applicant must possess experience and knowledge in fundraising, management, community and consumer relations, program management, public speaking, budgeting, and the ability to work with diverse and health compromised populations. Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and insurance. A minimum of two years experience in management is required.

Salary & Compensation:

Up to $63,000 annually, depending on experience & qualifications

14 paid vacation days

Expense account for business related activities
